You've surely used a Google Input Tool on your Android such as Google Hindi/Pinyin/Arabic etc. And now, it's available for your PC! Here's how to use it, as we are getting e-mails from many people asking how to utilize this great feature.

What is Google Input Tools?

Google Input Tools for Windows is an input method editor which allows users to enter text in any of the supported languages using a Latin (English / QWERTY) keyboard. Users can type a word the way it sounds using Latin characters and Google Input Tools for Windows will convert the word to its native script. Google Input Tools for Windows is currently available for 22 different languages: Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Persian, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Russian, Sanskrit, Serbian, Sinhala, Tamil, Telugu, Tigrinya and Urdu.

The Question that everyone is asking - How do we use it?

Most of those people who have downloaded this tools are confused how to configure it. Here is the method, with screen shots of my computer.

STEPS

Open the file you downloaded

It will download the language packs that you selected

It will then install them

After installation, open Control Panel

In the search bar, type language, and select Change Input Methods under Language

You can see the language packs you downloaded

Go to advanced settings from the left panel
Then, check the check box next to Use The Language Bar When Available

Select the language pack you want

Congrats! You just configured Google Input Tools! You can now open notepad or any other application and what you type will get transliterated. For example, if you selected Hindi, and typed
"Namaste", it will change into "नमस्ते"!
