Angry Birds Will Battle The Empire Next In A Star Wars Themed Edition

The Force is strong with Rovio. The addictive Angry Birds and its fleet will move next to a galaxy far, far away as the game developers announced a Star Wars themed addition to their game. Ever since the original mobile game captured our imagination, Rovio hasn’t failed to catapult itself to other variations in order to extend the popularity of the birds and the pigs. The present game will land on Apple’s app store on 8th November.

The spin-offs are fast and furious in their arrival. Last month  Bad Piggies was being launched. Angry Birds Space came before that; and there have been other editions in between. The latest venture is a collaboration with Lucasfilm and will feature characters from the movie series. Reports suggest that the Red Bird will take on Luke Skywalker’s role and the Dark Side will be represented by the pigs. The game also features an adapted musical score by John Williams, inspired by the original.
Colum Slevin, Vice President, Head of Studio Operations for Lucasfilm Ltd said:
“Both Star Wars and Angry Birds share the instant and irresistible appeal of hands-on fun. People seem to instinctively know what to do when handed a light saber or a bird in a slingshot, so this is a natural combination.”
The game will be available on iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone and Windows 8.
